Pechão has been the parish capital since 1593, belonging to the Termo de Faro, and only in 1826 was it integrated into the Termo de Olhão.
It is a small rural village, where almond and fig trees abound and is located about 4 km from Olhão and Faro.
The small Church of Pechão stands out for being at the highest point in the town. From here there is a beautiful view that reaches the entire region all the way to the sea.
An interesting curiosity is that attached to the Church, and in the middle of the street, we see a small Chapel of Bones. < br/>We can also visit Fonte Velha, the Pechão House-Museum and the Belamandil Chalet, the Solar do Torrejão, the coast mills and the daughter-in-law of the 3 mills in Belamandil.
